General tip for a good diet

  1. Eat a diverse range of foods, that includes leafy veg such as spinach, cabbage and kale.
  2. Eat probiotic foods such as kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, natural yogurt, miso
  3. Eat prebiotic foods such as asparagus, bananas, berries, broccoli, chia seeds, chicory root, dandelion greens, flax seeds, garlic, Jerusalem artichoke, kale, leeks, legumes, oats, onions
  4. Avoid low fat products as these are usually high in sugars and salt.
  5. Eat fats (butter contains butyric acid which is very good for our gut)
  6. Cut out or down on carbohydrates e.g. bread, potatoes, white rice, cakes, biscuits, sugar, grapes because these turn to sugar and pathogens loves sugar! Consider going gluten free.
  7. Have no artificial sweeteners at all!
  8. Have no processed fats at all – e.g. Stork, Olivio, Flora, etc. Stick to butter.
  9. Avoid added fructose, especially glucose-fructose syrup
  10. Avoid emulsifiers as these scrub the good stuff out of the gut

  12. Avoid antibiotics
  13. Exercise regularly
  14. Don't smoke
  15. Keep alcohol to a minimum
  16. Get on top of stress
  17. Make pesto out of a variety of herbs, especially oregano and parsley.
  18. Check that you are not doubling up on some nutrients if you take a few different supplements.
  19. Drink plenty of plain water away from food. It's free medicine and does so much good for the body.
